DevOps Engineer

This remote DevOps Engineer contract role focuses on building, maintaining, and optimizing cloud and on-premises infrastructure to support reliable software delivery. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code, configuring and monitoring CI pipelines, and collaborating with development teams to streamline build, test, and deployment processes. The DevOps Engineer will handle system administration tasks, especially in Linux environments, including performance tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting production issues. The role also involves contributing to automation initiatives, improving observability and logging, and documenting infrastructure and deployment processes to ensure consistency and scalability.
Qualifications
Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills, with experience using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar automation frameworks.
Proficiency in Software Development and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar) for automation, tooling, and integration tasks.
Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) to build robust pipelines.
Solid System Administration capabilities with a focus on managing servers, networks, monitoring, and security in production environments.
Advanced Linux skills, including configuration, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and shell scripting.
Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly beneficial.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services used in modern DevOps practices.
Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently in a remote, distributed team.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and documenting technical solutions clearly.
A relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience in DevOps or system engineering.
