## About the Role
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Lead, Project Engineering professional to provide technical leadership and coordination for a platform within the Gateway Satellite Services (GSS) program. The Project Engineer (PE) will have technical authority from Engineering Leadership and will be accountable for technical execution, performance, compliance, and operational needs throughout the full program lifecycle.
This role serves as a key technical interface between engineering teams, operational stakeholders, senior leadership, and customers. The PE will coordinate multidisciplinary activities spanning software, infrastructure, networking, communications, cloud, and mission operations to support mission-critical satellite services and customer requirements.
## Key Responsibilities
* Lead technical planning, execution, and coordination for assigned program activities.
* Plan and coordinate program activities throughout the program lifecycle.
* Develop, document, and support approval of program plans.
* Ensure adherence to engineering lifecycle processes, technical baselines, and program requirements.
* Identify, assess, track, and manage technical and program risks.
* Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and operational stakeholders.
* Provide technical direction to Engineering Functional Task Leaders, including Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Specialty Engineering, Technical Publications, and Configuration Management.
* Review project status and coordinate technical activities across engineering functions.
* Serve as a primary technical interface for internal leadership and external customers.
* Engage with customers throughout each phase of the program lifecycle.
* Oversee technical performance of platform capabilities spanning software, infrastructure, networking, and operations support.
* Support delivery and sustainment of a React-based web platform deployed in a Kubernetes/containerized environment.
* Coordinate technical activities involving AWS Cloud-hosted systems and integration with broader enterprise or mission networks.
* Support technical planning and issue resolution related to network architecture, assured communications paths, and SATCOM-connected operational sites.
* Partner with operations center personnel to support monitoring, management, and effective mission operations.
* Ensure technical compliance and mission readiness across engineering and operational activities.
* Support satellite subscription services and management, web-based platforms, supporting infrastructure, and networking operations.
## Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience, **or** a graduate degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
* Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret (SCI) Security Clearance.
* U.S. Citizenship, as required for the security clearance.
* Software Engineering or Systems Engineering experience.
## Preferred Qualifications
* Project Engineering experience.
* Experience supporting or overseeing web-based application development, preferably using React or VueJS.
* Experience with containerized application environments and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
* Experience with AWS Cloud architectures, hosting environments, and cloud operations.
* Understanding of networking concepts, architectures, and integration within larger mission or enterprise environments.
* Experience with SATCOM systems, assured communications architectures, or communications paths supporting remote or designated sites.
* Experience working with operational support teams, network operations centers, or mission operations centers.
* Experience coordinating technical efforts across software, cloud, networking, communications, and operations disciplines.
* Experience in mission-critical, high-availability, or secure communications environments.

## Education & Experience
**Education:** Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience, or graduate degree with 7+ years of related experience.
**Experience:** Software or Systems Engineering experience is required. Project Engineering, web application, cloud, networking, SATCOM, and mission operations experience are preferred.
