Content Creator

Barak Janakantha is looking for a creative and responsible Social Media Content Creator to join our team on a full-time, remote basis.
The role involves creating engaging and informative content for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and WhatsApp. The ideal candidate should have skills in content research, writing, short-form video creation, basic editing and social media management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create engaging social media posts, captions, scripts, Reels and YouTube Shorts.
• Research topics and verify information before publishing.
• Plan and organize content using a content calendar.
• Identify relevant trends and develop creative content ideas.
• Create and edit short-form videos and visual content.
• Manage and publish content across social media platforms.
• Monitor views, reach and engagement and use insights to improve content.
• Maintain consistent Barak Janakantha branding and style.
• Collaborate with the team remotely and complete assigned tasks within deadlines.
• Follow applicable social media platform policies and content guidelines.
Qualifications:
• Good writing and communication skills.
• Good understanding of Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
• Experience in social media content creation is preferred.
• Basic video editing and graphic design skills.
• Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, VN, Premiere Pro or similar tools is an advantage.
• Good research and information-verification skills.
• Creative, responsible and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently from home.
• Reliable internet connection and a suitable device for the work.
• Knowledge of English and relevant local languages is an advantage.
• Previous experience in social media, journalism, digital media or content creation is a plus.
