About the Role
Laukaitis Law is seeking a full-time Technology & Automation Specialist located in Puerto Rico to help manage, monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the Firm's technology systems and automations.
This is a hands-on technical operations role.
We are a 100% remote company. You can work from home, but you must reside in Puerto Rico.
Our Firm relies heavily on technology to operate a nationwide plaintiff-side class action practice. We use multiple systems that communicate with one another through automations, APIs, webhooks, and integrations. We need someone who will take day-to-day ownership of making sure those systems continue working properly. Additionally, we'd like someone who can own our automations and build new ones if needed.
The right person is technically curious, highly dependable, organized, and comfortable troubleshooting problems independently. You do not need to know every platform on your first day. We care more about your ability to understand how systems work, investigate problems, document solutions, communicate clearly, and learn quickly.
This person will work closely with Firm leadership, employees, and outside technology vendors.
Primary Responsibilities
Automation Monitoring & Troubleshooting
Monitor the Firm's automations and integrations to make sure they are operating correctly.
Investigate failed workflows, broken integrations, missing data, duplicate records, and other system issues.
Identify the cause of problems and either fix them or coordinate with the appropriate outside vendor or developer.
Test automations after changes are made to confirm they work as intended.
Maintain appropriate alerts and monitoring so failures are identified quickly rather than discovered days or weeks later.
Perform routine checks of critical workflows and systems.
Help prevent recurring failures by identifying patterns and recommending practical improvements.
Systems & Integrations
Support and maintain integrations involving systems such as:
Clio Manage
GoHighLevel
Slack
Microsoft 365 / SharePoint / OneDrive
n8n
DocuSign
QuickBooks Online
Firm websites and landing pages
Other SaaS applications used by the Firm
You will not necessarily be expected to build every complex integration yourself. You will be expected to understand how our systems connect, recognize when something is not working, investigate the issue, and make sure it gets resolved.
Technology Operations
Serve as the Firm's internal first point of contact for routine technology issues.
Troubleshoot software, application, login, connectivity, and basic computer issues.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access requests.
Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees from Firm technology systems.
Help configure computers and workplace software.
Coordinate with outside IT providers when an issue requires escalation.
Follow through on open technology issues until they are resolved.
Security & Access Controls
Assist with maintaining secure user accounts and appropriate system permissions.
Confirm that terminated or departing personnel promptly lose access to Firm systems.
Help monitor MFA, password-security practices, device access, and other Firm security requirements.
Identify unusual access, security concerns, or technology risks and immediately escalate them.
Work with the Firm's IT/security resources when more advanced expertise is necessary.
You do not need to be a cybersecurity engineer, but you must take security seriously and follow established procedures consistently.
Documentation
One of the most important parts of this position is documentation.
You will:
Maintain documentation showing how important systems and automations work.
Document integrations, credentials/access ownership, dependencies, and responsible vendors.
Maintain troubleshooting instructions for common problems.
Record material system changes.
Create simple diagrams or written explanations showing how information moves between systems.
Ensure the Firm is not dependent on one outside contractor knowing how a critical system works.
Testing & Quality Assurance
Test new automations and system changes before deployment.
Confirm that records are being created in the correct systems.
Verify that information is transferred accurately between platforms.
Look for duplicates, missing fields, incorrect statuses, and unexpected automation behavior.
Conduct periodic audits of critical workflows.
Report problems clearly and help determine the appropriate fix.
Required Qualifications
Located in Puerto Rico.
Available to work full time during the Firm's normal business hours.
Approximately 1–3 years of experience in IT, software development, automation, systems administration, technical support, or a related technical role.
Basic understanding of APIs, webhooks, databases, and system integrations.
Ability to troubleshoot technical problems methodically.
Comfortable learning unfamiliar software platforms.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to document technical processes in plain English.
Ability to manage multiple open issues and follow them through completion.
Dependable and responsive during working hours.
Comfortable communicating with attorneys, nontechnical employees, developers, and outside technology vendors.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with any of the following is helpful but not required:
n8n, Zapier, Make, Power Automate, or similar automation platforms
Clio or other legal practice-management software
GoHighLevel or another CRM
Slack administration or Slack integrations
Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Azure
APIs and webhooks
SQL or database concepts
Git/GitHub
Python or JavaScript
Basic cybersecurity and user-access administration
Technical documentation
Working with outside developers, MSPs, or IT vendors
We value diversity and inclusion in our workforce. We encourage individuals from underrepresented groups to apply.
