POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Manager of Technology Solutions leads technical strategy and execution across Product Management, Product Integration, and Technical Support. This role bridges customers, sales, product development, ISV partners, and support teams to ensure Star products are market-relevant, integration-ready, and successfully deployed. Serving as the internal and external product expert. Works independently or through project teams, exercising sound judgment and discretion.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Development & Management
Manage the full product launch cycle from conception to public release, including building and maintaining product specifications based on company, market, and vendor input.
Conduct continuous market research to identify required new products and features, and evaluate and provide improvement feedback on products, features, functionality, and software utilities and drivers.
Research and define appropriate hardware and software vendor partnerships based on company needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement
Work with external vendors and global internal teams to provide ongoing market feedback and continuously refine product specifications and development processes.
Partner with Marketing to facilitate successful product launches, and collaborate with Sales and Business Development to convert technical product integrations into revenue opportunities.
Support sales engineering efforts to address technical and custom requirement challenges for enterprise and other key projects.
Work with Support and Quality teams to track metrics and continuously improve processes and materials.
Training, Documentation & Enablement
Prepare and conduct product trainings for Star Micronics staff, distributors, and customers, and facilitate cross-departmental training on new products.
Assist in creating user documentation to support the setup, use, and integration of new products.
Serve as the internal and external product expert across all Star product offerings.
Partner Development & Technical Advocacy
Build and grow Star's network of Software Partners by developing relationships with new ISV companies and deepening integrations with existing partners.
Act as a technical evangelist and ambassador to customers, distributors, industry groups, ISV partners, and other stakeholders.
SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional publications, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, employees, vendors, government agents, and the general public; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Very high reasoning skills; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid and nuanced conclusions.
Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Skills must include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Proficient in use of internet and social media platforms, as well as internal analytical software; SalesForce & Open Tracker.
Effectively utilize the data processing system to obtain, store, and analyze pertinent data and information.
EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree in Technical Engineering, Business Management, Project Management, or related field required. Candidates who do not possess the required education may substitute additional occupational experience on a year-for-year basis.
· Experience building out detailed product specifications as well as working with software development companies to build statements of work, software/hardware requirement specifications, and regulatory testing compliance
· 9+ years experience with product launches
· Experience working with third party, OEM, ODM, etc vendors preferred
· 5+ years experience managing product or other technical teams required
· 3+ years experience in the point of sale or related hardware or software market preferred
· Experience with Asana or similar project management platforms preferred
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
· 25-30% travel (domestic and international) as needed to attend and participate in company meetings, vendor meetings, customer meetings, trade shows, and global product meetings.
Valid DL from resident state and US Passport required
