Role Description The Assistant Tax Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad. The role involves managing and reviewing tax compliance activities, including direct and indirect tax filings, tax preparation, and documentation for corporate and individual clients. The Assistant Tax Manager will support tax planning initiatives, assist in structuring transactions, and interpret relevant tax laws and regulations to provide accurate advisory inputs. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with clients to gather information, preparing tax computations and reports, supporting tax assessments and audits, and collaborating with senior team members on complex tax matters. The role also includes monitoring regulatory changes, contributing to internal process improvements, and ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables.
Qualifications
Strong tax planning skills, with the ability to design and support efficient, compliant tax strategies.
Experience in tax compliance and tax preparation, including handling returns, filings, and related documentation.
Knowledge of tax law and tax regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply them to client situations.
Solid understanding of core tax concepts and practices, including direct and indirect taxation.
Relevant professional qualification such as CA, CMA, or equivalent, or a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
2–5 years of experience in tax advisory, compliance, or related roles, preferably in a consulting or professional services environment.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and client management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Proficiency in tax and accounting software, MS Excel, and other relevant tools.
