We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist
In This Role, You Will
Lead end-to-end delivery of AI/ML engineering solutions, accountable from design and build through production support and measurable outcomes.
Own architecture and technical strategy for scalable, secure data/AI platforms (batch + streaming) aligned to HSBC engineering standards and controls.
Design and build high-performance, cost-efficient data pipelines on GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow/Beam, Airflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage) with resilience and observability.
Implement MLOps across the full lifecycle: CI/CD, automated testing, reproducible training pipelines, deployment, monitoring, and rollback.
Deliver production-grade GenAI solutions (LLMs, RAG, agentic/multi-agent patterns) using orchestration frameworks (LangChain/LlamaIndex), prompt engineering, and robust evaluation.
Apply strong data and search engineering: PostgreSQL/pgvector (vector + hybrid search, indexing, metadata filtering) and graph databases (e.g., FalkorDB) for graph modelling and queries.
Drive performance optimisation using Redis caching and tuning for throughput, latency, and cost; apply rigorous model evaluation (precision/recall/F1, ROC/PR-AUC, calibration).
Embed engineering excellence and governance: coding standards, reviews, test coverage, documentation, SLOs/incident management, plus security-by-design, compliance, and data governance for regulated environments.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on engineering practices and governance.
Proven experience in application architecture and data management.
Familiarity with AI technologies and their application in banking or financial services.
Technical acumen in cloud computing, CI/CD pipelines, and software development lifecycle.
Ability to influence and drive changes within a complex organizational structure.
Strong analytical skills to assess engineering practices and recommend improvements.
