Vice President of Data Architecture

Role Description The Vice President of Data Architecture is a full-time, remote role responsible for defining and overseeing the enterprise data architecture that supports MyBina M&R Finance’s customer-centric financial services. This role leads the design of scalable data models, data platforms, and integration frameworks to enable secure, accurate, and high-performing data solutions across the organization. The Vice President will collaborate with engineering, product, risk, and business teams to align data strategies with organizational goals, ensuring data quality, consistency, and compliance with relevant regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding data architecture standards, reviewing technical designs, mentoring data and engineering teams, and driving initiatives to modernize data infrastructure and analytics capabilities. The role also involves evaluating new technologies, establishing best practices for data governance, and ensuring that data architecture supports insightful reporting and decision-making.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Architecture and Enterprise Architecture skills to design scalable, secure, and robust data ecosystems across the organization.
Candidates should possess advanced Data Modeling skills, including conceptual, logical, and physical modeling for transactional and analytical systems.
Candidates should possess solid Software Development experience, enabling effective collaboration with engineering teams and review of technical implementations.
Candidates should possess proven Project Management skills to lead cross-functional data initiatives, manage timelines, and coordinate stakeholders.
Extensive experience in data architecture leadership roles within financial services or similarly regulated industries is highly beneficial.
Strong knowledge of modern data platforms and tools (e.g., cloud data warehouses, data lakes, ETL/ELT frameworks, streaming data technologies) is preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in data governance, data quality, security, and regulatory compliance (e.g., privacy and financial regulations) is advantageous.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
