Role Description The Senior CNC Programmer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for programming and optimizing CNC machining operations for complex components. This role includes interpreting technical drawings and 3D models, developing CNC programs for milling and multi-axis machining, selecting tools and cutting strategies, and validating programs through simulations and trial runs. The Senior CNC Programmer will collaborate closely with machinists, production engineers, and quality teams to ensure parts meet dimensional, surface finish, and performance requirements. Daily activities include troubleshooting machining issues, refining programs for cycle time reduction and tool life improvement, supporting new product development projects, and maintaining documentation and standards for CNC programming. The role also involves mentoring junior programmers and operators, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and upholding safety and quality protocols on the shop floor.
Qualifications
Strong CNC Programming and Programming skills for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining centers.
Proficiency in Machining and Milling operations, including tool selection, workholding, and process optimization.
Ability to interpret and apply Technical Drawing standards, GD&T, and engineering specifications.
Experience with CNC programming software/CAM tools (e.g., Mastercam, NX, Fusion 360, or similar) and CNC controllers (Fanuc, Siemens, or equivalent).
Background in precision manufacturing for aerospace, defense, or similarly high-tolerance industries is highly beneficial.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and quality.
Ability to work collaboratively on-site with cross-functional teams and to mentor less-experienced staff.
Diploma or degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in CNC machining and programming.
