Work Hours: 5:00 AM–1:00 PM Arizona Time
Compensation: $8+ USD depending on experience
Type: Long-Term | Full-Time
Starting Structure: 30-day part-time test period, with conversion to full-time based on performance
About the Role
We are hiring a QA Engineer & Technical Assistant on behalf of our client, a U.S.-based digital marketing company to support its internal Systems team. This is a QA-first technical role. The main focus is testing, catching bugs, preventing regressions, and supporting clean deployments. You will work under the direction of the team’s Core Architect, who owns platform vision, roadmap, and core feature development. This not a product leadership role. This is not an architecture role. We need someone who can be a strong testing safety net, catch what breaks before it ships, and complete targeted technical tasks when assigned.
What You’ll Do
QA & Automated Testing
Build and maintain end-to-end test suites using Playwright
Test critical UI paths such as login/auth flows, dynamic forms, interactive drawers, task logic, subtasks, and admin rules
Run regression checks before deployments
Make sure new releases do not break existing functionality
Identify missing loading states, UI edge cases, broken logic, failed actions, and unexpected behavior
Create clear testing notes and issue reports
Bug Investigation & Root Cause Tracing
Trace bugs from symptoms to source
Review console errors, network payloads, failed requests, and backend responses
Identify whether an issue is coming from the UI, API, database, permissions, or another part of the system
Present findings clearly before fixes are made
Help the team understand what broke, where it broke, and what needs to be checked next
Developer Tooling & Integrations
Work comfortably in Git/GitHub, Terminal CLI, and VS Code
Follow clean pull request and code review practices
Support setup or usage of MCP tools when needed
Inspect REST payloads
Test third-party webhooks such as Stripe, Twilio, Resend, or similar tools
Support testing for Supabase Edge Functions or backend listeners
Light Full-Stack Support
Make targeted fixes in React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS when assigned
Build or adjust small UI components
Extract reusable cards or UI elements when directed
Check database records in Supabase or PostgreSQL
Write minor SQL migration scripts when needed
Help align TypeScript interfaces with database enums
Support technical cleanup and missing-items lists during testing passes
Required Experience
Hands-on experience with Playwright or a comparable end-to-end testing framework
Experience testing web applications
Ability to trace a bug from a console error, failed payload, or broken UI behavior back to the source in the codebase
Comfortable working under direct supervision and clear technical direction
Strong attention to detail
Clear written communication for bug reports, testing notes, and technical updates
Comfortable with Git/GitHub, VS Code, and Terminal CLI
Able to work full-time, Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM–1:00 PM Arizona Time
Strongly Preferred
Working knowledge of React
Working knowledge of TypeScript
Working knowledge of Tailwind CSS
Ability to make small UI fixes or component updates when directed
Experience with Supabase
Experience with PostgreSQL
Basic SQL migration experience
Experience checking schema, database records, or type alignment
Experience testing webhooks for tools like Stripe, Twilio, Resend, or similar services
