Overview
A Veeva Vault CRM Developer role is responsible for configuring, enhancing, supporting, and optimizing Vault CRM solutions for life sciences commercial teams. The role requires hands-on experience with Vault CRM navigation, business administration, object configuration, security, workflows, reporting, data loading, and platform development tools as reflected in Veevaʼs Vault CRM enablement material.
Key Responsibilities
Configure Vault CRM components such as tabs, settings, messages, fields, layouts, object types, and validation rules.
Handle admin tasks like record maintenance, picklists, delegated access, and message updates.
Manage security through profiles, permission sets, roles, and sharing rules.
Support workflows, approvals, lifecycles, and triggers for processes like Time Off Territory and Medical Inquiry.
Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and report types.
Perform bulk data extraction and data loading using Vault Loader, including CSV-based upset activities and job status monitoring. Support territory management and access behavior.
Use Vault development and admin tools such as Vault Toolbox, VQL, MDL-based component inspection, audit logs, and data navigation utilities for troubleshooting and controlled enhancements.
CRM Content Management
Required Skills
Strong experience in Veeva Vault CRM administration and configuration across objects, fields, layouts, list layouts, object types, tabs, and settings.
Working knowledge of Vault security architecture including security profiles, permission sets, layout profiles, delegated access, sharing models, and application roles.
Experience with Vault CRM reporting, dashboards, and report type creation for business and operational reporting.
Hands-on knowledge of Vault Loader for bulk extract and load operations using CSV files and external IDs.
Familiarity with workflow, lifecycle, validation rule, dependent picklist, and trigger configuration in Vault.
Ability to troubleshoot configuration, user access, and data visibility issues using audit logs and platform tools.
Understanding of life sciences CRM processes such as account management, call reporting, scheduling, surveys, territory management, and medical inquiry workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in CRM migration or transition programs from Veeva CRM to Vault CRM.
Exposure to Vault Toolbox, VQL query building, data navigation, and component-level troubleshooting in sandbox and controlled environments.
Ability to work with business stakeholders, admins, and end users to translate commercial requirements into scalable Vault CRM configurations.
Experience documenting solution design, configuration decisions, testing outcomes, and deployment support activities.

The role typically supports commercial operations, sales teams, managers, business administrators, and medical stakeholders by enabling secure access to CRM capabilities and ensuring that business processes function correctly within Vault CRM.
