Enterprise Integration Architecture
• Lead the architecture and design of enterprise API management solutions using Google Apigee, including Apigee X and/or Apigee hybrid environments.
• Define and implement API management architecture, standards, patterns, and best practices across the organization.
• Design scalable API solutions covering API proxy development, reusable policies, shared flows, flow hooks, target endpoints, and API products.
• Provide technical leadership for the complete API lifecycle, including API design, development, testing, deployment, versioning, security, monitoring, and retirement.
• Develop and enforce API governance standards, including naming conventions, API specifications, versioning, documentation, security, and deployment standards.
• Design and implement API security using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, API keys, mutual TLS, TLS/SSL, and related security mechanisms.
• Architect API solutions integrating with enterprise applications, microservices, databases, SaaS platforms, messaging systems, and legacy systems.
• Design appropriate authentication, authorization, traffic management, quota, spike arrest, caching, mediation, transformation, and fault-handling strategies.
• Provide architectural guidance for REST, SOAP, and event-driven integration patterns where applicable.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Apigee API proxies, shared flows, policies, configurations, and deployments.
• Integrate Apigee with DevOps and automation tools such as Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Maven, Terraform, or equivalent technologies.
• Design solutions for high availability, scalability, resiliency, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
• Define API monitoring, logging, alerting, analytics, and operational support strategies.
• Analyze API performance and production issues and provide guidance on
guidance on troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and remediation.
• Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to ensure APIs comply with enterprise security, networking, and regulatory requirements.
• Define and review API specifications using OpenAPI/Swagger and ensure adherence to enterprise API standards.
• Conduct architecture reviews, design walkthroughs, and technical assessments for API initiatives.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to Apigee developers and integration engineers.
• Evaluate new Apigee capabilities and recommend improvements to the enterprise API platform.
• Support migration and modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy API gateways or integration platforms to Apigee.
• Work with stakeholders to translate business and technical requirements into scalable API architecture and implementation strategies.
