Principal Platform Engineer

We’re partnered with a fast-scaling healthcare technology company building modern infrastructure that improves healthcare delivery and patient outcomes at scale.
They’re now looking for a Principal backend/platform engineer to help lead the evolution of a critical identity and access management platform supporting secure, scalable access across multiple products and services.
The role will involve designing, build, and operate complex distributed systems, drive strategic improvements to architecture and reliability, and use agentic AI tools and workflows to accelerate development while applying strong engineering judgment.

What You’ll Do
• Own cross-team and platform initiatives, including migrations, deprecations, and architectural changes
• Set the technical bar across system design, architecture, and engineering patterns
• Identify and evaluate new platform architectures, tools, and capabilities
• Own reliability through SLOs, observability, and shared on-call responsibility
• Drive adoption of agentic AI development through tooling, workflows, and engineering standard
• Mentor Senior Engineers and raise technical judgment across the team
Requirements
• Strong track record owning cross-team or platform-level technical initiatives
• Deep experience with distributed systems, data infrastructure, and service architecture
• Proven end-to-end ownership
• Deep hands-on experience with agentic AI development, tooling, and AI-native workflows
