Junior Software Enginer

Role Description The Junior Software Engineer is a part-time remote role responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of internal software tools and systems used across JDS CONSTRUCTION PHILS., INC. On a day-to-day basis, this role assists in implementing back-end features, fixing bugs, and writing clean, maintainable code under the guidance of senior engineers. The Junior Software Engineer collaborates with project and operations teams to understand requirements, perform basic troubleshooting, and contribute to system integrations that improve workflows. The role also involves writing technical documentation, participating in code reviews, and learning company-specific technologies and best practices.
Qualifications
Strong foundational knowledge in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
Skills in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript).
Understanding of Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and their practical application in production code.
Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly, with attention to detail and commitment to writing clean code.
Effective communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment, including responsiveness and clear documentation.
Enrollment in or completion of a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and basic software testing practices is an advantage.
