Role Description This part-time remote Interior Designer role supports the development of interior environments that align with Urban Development Authority’s urban planning objectives. The Interior Designer will create interior layouts, develop concepts and mood boards, and prepare design documentation for a range of public and private spaces. Daily tasks include space planning, coordinating with architects and project teams, producing or reviewing construction drawings, and selecting FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) that meet functional, sustainability, and budget requirements. The role also involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand project needs, revising designs based on feedback, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. The Interior Designer will manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintain organized digital files, and communicate clearly with remote colleagues and partners.
Qualifications
Demonstrated skills in Space Planning and Interior Design to create efficient, user-centered layouts.
Understanding of Architecture principles to coordinate interior concepts with overall building and urban design.
Ability to produce and interpret Construction Drawings for accurate implementation of interior plans.
Experience with FF&E selection, specification, and coordination, with attention to durability, sustainability, and cost.
Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar) and presentation tools.
Strong visual communication skills, including the ability to prepare mood boards, renderings, and clear design narratives.
Effective remote collaboration skills, including time management, self-direction, and professional written and verbal communication.
Relevant education in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field; professional certifications or licensure are an advantage.
Knowledge of building codes, accessibility standards, and sustainable design practices is beneficial.
