Job Title: UX Designer – Digital Experience & Merchandising
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Engagement: Contract
About The Company
We are a leading media and entertainment organization creating digital experiences that make it easier for customers to discover, understand, and choose the entertainment solutions that are right for them.
Our Digital Experience Design team brings together human-centered design, strong visual storytelling, experimentation, and scalable design systems to create experiences that work for both customers and the business. As our digital brand continues to evolve, we're looking for designers who can bring fresh creative thinking to an established ecosystem—respecting what works today while helping define what comes next.
Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on UX Designer to help shape the next evolution of a major B2B digital acquisition and merchandising experience. This role is ideal for a versatile digital designer who cares equally about how an experience works and how it feels. Approximately 70% of the role will focus on digital merchandising and acquisition experiences, with the remaining 30% supporting delivery, optimization, and evolution of the broader digital experience.
You'll own much of the day-to-day design experience—from early concepts and wireframes through polished, developer-ready designs—while working within an established Figma design system. This isn't a blank canvas, but we want someone who can recognize where existing patterns can be better and has the creativity and design-system expertise to evolve them thoughtfully.
You'll also join at an especially interesting point in the brand's evolution. As the organization prepares to introduce a new dark-mode design expression in 2027, you'll help explore how that visual language translates into digital experiences, evolve components and patterns, and solve the creative UX challenges that emerge along the way.
Above all, we're looking for someone who loves design—a creative problem solver with exceptional visual instincts, strong UX fundamentals, and the adaptability to move between creative exploration and practical execution.
Key Responsibilities
Own UX and visual design for B2B digital merchandising and acquisition experiences, from initial concepts and wireframes through polished, production-ready designs.
Translate complex products, offers, pricing, and business requirements into digital experiences that feel clear, compelling, intuitive, and easy to navigate.
Create engaging merchandising experiences that effectively communicate product value and help customers understand and select the right solutions.
Help evolve the digital experience toward a new dark-mode design expression, exploring new visual patterns, treatments, components, and interaction approaches as the broader brand evolves.
Bring exceptional visual craft to layouts and digital experiences, with particular attention to hierarchy, composition, typography, imagery, spacing, interaction, and detail.
Work confidently within an established Figma design system while recognizing opportunities to improve, extend, or create components when the experience requires it.
Build and modify scalable Figma components using auto layout, variants, variables, component properties, libraries, and other advanced design-system practices.
Partner closely with Producers, business stakeholders, Developers, and the broader Experience Design team to move work efficiently from concept through production and launch.
Deliver thoughtful, developer-ready designs, assets, annotations, and specifications with a high degree of precision and consistency.
Apply UX, responsive-design, usability, and accessibility best practices—including WCAG standards—throughout the design process.
Use research, analytics, user testing, and A/B testing to understand customer behavior, evaluate design decisions, and continuously optimize digital experiences.
Support ongoing delivery and maintenance needs across the existing experience while maintaining design quality and consistency.
Explore how AI and emerging creative technologies can accelerate ideation, imagery, prototyping, production, and everyday design workflows without replacing strong design thinking.
Communicate design rationale clearly, explaining not simply what was designed but why a particular approach best serves the customer and business.
Balance creative ambition with real-world business requirements, technical constraints, and timelines—pushing the experience forward while consistently shipping high-quality work.
Requirements:Education:
Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related discipline preferred.
Equivalent professional experience and an exceptional portfolio will also be considered.
Experience:
Experience designing customer-facing web experiences, particularly within digital merchandising, e-commerce, acquisition, marketing, or other conversion-oriented environments.
Demonstrated experience taking digital design work from early concepts and wireframes through high-fidelity, production-ready execution.
Experience working within established design systems and component libraries, with the ability to recognize when existing patterns should be extended or improved.
Experience partnering directly with Developers and delivering designs that account for responsive behavior, technical constraints, accessibility, and production realities.
Experience using analytics, user feedback, testing, or experimentation to inform and improve digital experiences.
Experience designing B2B, e-commerce, subscription, streaming, media, or similarly complex digital products is preferred.
Skills:
Exceptional visual design craft and a genuine passion for design, with a sophisticated eye for typography, composition, imagery, hierarchy, spacing, interaction, and the details that separate adequate digital experiences from exceptional ones.
Strong UX and interaction-design fundamentals with the ability to understand the problem behind the interface, organize complex information, anticipate user needs, and make thoughtful experience decisions rather than simply producing attractive screens.
Advanced proficiency in Figma, including auto layout, components, variants, component properties, variables, libraries, prototyping, and other scalable design-system practices.
Strong design-system thinking with the ability to work effectively within established patterns while identifying thoughtful opportunities to evolve components, interactions, and visual language.
Strong digital merchandising instincts with the ability to translate products, offers, content, and business priorities into compelling experiences that help customers discover, understand, compare, and choose.
Creative problem-solving skills with the curiosity and adaptability to navigate ambiguous challenges, explore multiple approaches, and develop solutions when there isn't an obvious design answer.
Strong understanding of responsive web design, accessibility, and WCAG principles with the ability to incorporate these considerations naturally into the design process.
Experience using A/B testing, analytics, research, or user testing to evaluate design decisions and continuously improve customer experiences.
Strong production-design capabilities with an understanding of how digital assets, imagery, components, and specifications need to be prepared for successful development and implementation.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to articulate design rationale, receive and incorporate feedback, influence stakeholders, and work effectively with business and technical partners.
Strong ownership and adaptability with the ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, move quickly when needed, and know when collaboration will produce a stronger outcome.
An emerging-tools mindset with interest in using Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT, Claude, Figma AI, and other AI-enabled creative tools to accelerate exploration, production, prototyping, and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing B2B digital acquisition or merchandising experiences.
Experience within e-commerce, streaming, subscription-based products, entertainment, or other conversion-focused digital environments.
Experience creating, extending, or evolving component libraries and enterprise design systems.
Experience supporting a significant brand or visual-system evolution, including dark-mode or alternative-theme design systems.
Hands-on experience with A/B testing and translating experimentation results into design improvements.
Experience with content design or strong UX writing instincts.
Experience with motion design, animation, After Effects, or video.
Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop is helpful, although experience incorporating emerging AI-powered creative tools into the design workflow is increasingly valuable.
