Summary
L2 Wireless Engineer is responsible for providing advanced technical support and troubleshooting for networking, wireless, and cloud-based environments. This role focuses on diagnosing connectivity issues, analyzing network performance, supporting SaaS platforms, and ensuring customers receive timely and effective solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong networking fundamentals, troubleshooting expertise, and a customer-first mindset.
Roles and Responsibilities
Troubleshoot networking, wireless, and cloud-related issues
Analyze connectivity problems involving TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, ARP, and VLANs
Support Wi-Fi environments and troubleshoot coverage, roaming, throughput, and performance issues
Utilize packet capture and log analysis tools to identify root causes
Work with REST APIs and remote management protocols to support customer environments
Perform issue replication, root cause analysis, and performance monitoring
Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues
Provide technical guidance and recommendations to customers
Contribute to knowledge base articles and process improvements
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
Understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, switching, VLANs, NAT, DHCP, DNS, and ARP
Experience troubleshooting Wi-Fi and wireless networking environments
Knowledge of WLAN architectures and 802.11 standards
Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and Postman
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Experience with packet capture and network analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Customer-focused mindset and ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Ability to work independently and within global teams
Desired Skills
CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent certifications
Experience supporting SaaS environments
Familiarity with TR-069 (CWMP)
Experience using Wireshark or similar packet analysis tools
Linux command-line experience
Basic SQL knowledge for troubleshooting and log analysis
Knowledge of wireless security protocols, QoS, MU-MIMO, and band steering
