Role Description The Lead Software Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for guiding technical direction, designing system architecture, and leading implementation of back-end services and APIs. This role includes hands-on software development, code reviews, and mentoring other engineers to uphold best practices in programming, testing, and deployment. The Lead Software Engineer will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions, ensuring performance, security, and maintainability. Day-to-day tasks include planning and estimating work, improving development workflows, resolving production issues, and contributing to long-term technical strategy and standards.
Qualifications
Strong foundational knowledge in Computer Science and Software Development, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), with experience in one or more modern languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or similar).
Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including building and maintaining APIs, working with databases, and integrating services.
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering initiatives, mentor team members, and make sound architectural decisions.
Experience with version control systems, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a remote, cross-functional environment and document technical decisions clearly.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with security best practices, performance optimization, and monitoring/observability tools is a plus.
