About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Android Engineer to join our innovative team at GrabJobs. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of our Android mobile application, delivering impactful features that enhance the user experience for thousands of users worldwide. As one of only two Android engineers, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and Data to develop and refine our Android platform using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. Your work will directly influence how businesses and job seekers interact with our platform, making a meaningful difference in their hiring and employment journeys. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, a passion for interactive and user-focused design, and a drive to build scalable, high-quality mobile solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on Android development.
Proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, with a proven track record of delivering end-to-end features.
Strong understanding of mobile app architecture, performance optimization, and best practices.
Experience working collaboratively with product managers, designers, and data analysts to create impactful features.
Ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable code that prioritizes user experience.
Familiarity with modern development tools and version control systems.
Curiosity about AI tools, productivity enhancements, and emerging mobile technologies.
Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative and user-centered mindset.
Willingness to mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy new Android features from concept through release, ensuring high quality and performance.
Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Data teams to identify user needs and translate them into innovative solutions.
Contribute to cross-platform development efforts, including iOS and web, to maintain consistency across platforms.
Exercise technical autonomy in decision-making, advocating for scalable and maintainable solutions.
Identify and implement improvements in developer workflows and learner experiences to enhance overall product quality.
Maintain a high standard of code quality, security, and performance, conducting code reviews and testing.
Stay updated with the latest Android development trends, tools, and best practices.
Continuously consider the educational impact of features on learners, aligning development efforts with our mission to improve interactive education.

Competitive salary range of $180,000 to $240,000 annually, commensurate with experience and impact.
