Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Investigative Reporter role based in Hyderabad. The Investigative Reporter will identify, research, develop and Present in-depth stories on politics, governance, social issues, and regional developments across South India. Responsibilities include conducting field reporting, interviewing sources, gathering and verifying documents and data, and using computer-assisted reporting tools to uncover facts and trends. The role involves writing clear, compelling investigative pieces, collaborating with editors and other reporters, and adapting stories for multiple formats, including digital and broadcast. The reporter will be expected to maintain ethical standards, meet deadlines, and stay closely informed about regional issues and public interest topics.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Investigative Reporting and Reporting skills, with a track record of developing original stories.
Candidates should possess Computer-assisted Reporting skills for working with data, public records, and digital research tools.
Candidates should possess Broadcasting skills for presenting stories across audio or video formats when required.
Candidates should possess advanced Writing skills to produce clear, accurate, and engaging investigative content.
Strong news judgment, familiarity with South Indian politics and culture, and commitment to journalistic ethics.
Ability to conduct fieldwork, build sources, and work in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
Relevant experience in journalism or reporting; a degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field is beneficial.
Proficiency in English; knowledge of one or more South Indian languages is an advantage.
