POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the leadership of the Production Manager, the Production Superintendent is responsible for overseeing production operations during the assigned shift, including the mixing and packing of products. This role leads daily production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations while meeting production schedules, quality standards, food safety requirements, and labor objectives. The Production Superintendent provides leadership and direction to supervisors, leads, and production employees, with a focus on driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, efficiency, sanitation, employee development, and overall shift performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Implements and enforces policies, procedures and standards that support continuous improvement in production yield and efficiency, safety, quality, leadership, cleanliness, food safety, adherence to standard operating procedures, employee understanding of products and processes, teamwork and employee welfare on the assigned shift.
Continuously evaluates shift performance, analyze operational results, and take corrective action to improve manufacturing performance, labor utilization, safety, quality, cleanliness, yield, efficiency, downtime, attendance, and overall production effectiveness.
Directs and manages production activities on the assigned shift to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements are achieved.
Develops, maintains, and enforces production standards and operating procedures to ensure consistent performance and product quality during the assigned shift.
Leads, coaches, and develops Production Supervisors, Leads, Operators, and production employees to maintain staffing requirements and achieve production objectives.
Partners with Human Resources to enforce company policies, mission, and values in a fair and consistent manner while fostering a positive and productive work environment
Identifies training needs and coordinate employee development opportunities to improve operational knowledge, performance, and cross-functional capabilities.
Ensures compliance with all environmental, health, safety, quality, food safety, GMP, HACCP, SQF, FDA and company requirements.
Implements corrective actions relating to accidents, injuries, near misses, quality concerns, food safety issues, and policy violations.
Monitors shift performance metrics including productivity, labor efficiency, downtime, waste, yield, safety, and quality, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
