Construction Safety Specialist
Philadelphia, PA and South Jersey Area | Full-Time | CMI
Compliance Management International (CMI) is hiring an experienced Safety Specialist for projects in Philadelphia, PA and South Jersey. This is a long-term career opportunity for a hands-on Safety Professional with strong petro-chemical or refinery, OSHA compliance, and field safety experience.
What You’ll Do
Provide daily construction safety / EHS oversight for contractors and subcontractors
Conduct jobsite inspections, safety audits, hazard assessments, and observations
Review JHAs/JSAs, Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), permits, toolbox talks, and safety documentation
Coach trades and contractors on OSHA compliance and safe work practices
Monitor chemical exposures using a respirator
Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses and track corrective actions
Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926, client requirements, and site-specific safety programs
Requirements
3+ years of construction safety experience in a Refinery or Petro-chemical setting
Knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards
Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction required
TWIC, Transportation Worker Identification Credential, card preferred
Current First Aid/CPR/AED
Strong hazard recognition, communication, coaching, and field leadership skills
