We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Architect to lead the design, security, and lifecycle management of our Mainframe environment, with a strong focus on ACF2 and identity and access management. In this role, you will drive security best practices, deliver complex IAM projects, and provide technical leadership to ensure the integrity and compliance of our Mainframe systems.
Responsibilities
Analyze, prioritize, and remediate security assessment findings across directory services related to ACF2/Mainframe
Contribute to the development of secure configurations and hardening standards
Provide operational support and lifecycle management for ACF2
Design and maintain Access Control Facility 2 (ACF2) security rules, resource classes, and access control structures
Develop and enforce security policies and procedures for Mainframe systems
Conduct risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
Provide technical leadership in the integration of ACF2 Global system options with enterprise IAM solutions
Monitor and analyze security logs and reports to detect and respond to unauthorized access or anomalies
Collaborate with internal teams to support secure application development and deployment on the Mainframe
Lead incident response efforts related to Mainframe security breaches or policy violations
Lead or contribute to moderately complex IAM projects, ensuring alignment with business and security objectives
Produce and maintain technical documentation, including engineered diagrams, support runbooks, and troubleshooting guides
Requirements
7+ years of experience in Mainframe security architecture and engineering
Expertise in Access Control Facility 2 (ACF2), including security rules, resource classes, and Global system options
Proficiency in Mainframe security policy development, enforcement, and hardening standards
Knowledge of digital certificates, Xrole support, and passphrase support
Background in risk assessments, security audits, and regulatory compliance (SOX, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
Skills in integrating Mainframe security with enterprise IAM solutions
Competency in security log monitoring, anomaly detection, and incident response
Capability to lead moderately complex IAM projects and participate in code reviews and quality assurance processes
Familiarity with producing technical documentation, engineered diagrams, and support runbooks
Understanding of current industry trends, threats, and best practices in Mainframe and cybersecurity
English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher
