The Role
We’re looking for a VP of Business Development, Mid-Market to join our Commercial team, reporting directly to our Chief Commercial Officer. You’ll lead the build-out of our mid-market BD function - owning the full sales cycle from prospecting to close across emerging and specialty pharma and biotech accounts.
Job Requirements
What You’ll Be Doing
Build and lead a high-performing BD team focused onacquiringmid-market pharma and biotech accounts-setting strategy, team structure, and coverage model from the ground up.
Own the mid-market deal cycle end to end territory planning, prospecting, negotiation, close.
Develop and implement strategies toacquireandretainsmall to mid-sized pharma and biotech accountsand new logos, with a clear value proposition aroundCluePoints’ AI-powered RBQM platform.
Partner cross-functionally with Product Marketing,Strategy, and Commercial Operations to align GTM execution, messaging, and customer transitions.
Contribute to shared commercial frameworks alongside theCommercialLeadership— territory segmentation, pipeline generation, and coverage models.
RepresentCluePointsat industry events and conferences, building relationships with clinical trial sponsors across the mid-market segment.
Job Responsibilities
What You’ll Bring
8+ years of proven success in B2B SaaS sales or business development in life sciences, with a strongtrack recordin mid-market or emerging pharma and biotech accounts.
Experience leading and developing high-performing BD teams-a player, captain, and coach who builds culture as well as pipeline.
A proven ability to close multi-year SaaS deals and evangelize complex solutions; RBQM or RBM experience is a strong plus.
Strong CRM discipline and analytical mindset, with experience in forecasting and pipeline management (Salesforce preferred).
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, comfortable operating across an international stakeholder environment.
Nice to Have
Experience designing or scaling a mid-market BD function from scratch.
Familiarity with account-based marketing and outbound programme design.
Exposure to enterprise onboarding or change management in a SaaS context.
