Role Description This is a remote contract role for a Software Engineer at Scint.ai | Supply Chain Intelligence. The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain back-end services and APIs that power the core procurement and sourcing workflows on the platform. Responsibilities include implementing scalable, secure, and reliable server-side logic, integrating data sources, and optimizing performance for high-volume pricing and supplier analytics. The role involves collaborating with product and data teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, writing clean and testable code, and participating in code reviews. The Software Engineer will also assist in troubleshooting production issues, improving system observability, and contributing to continuous improvement of architecture and development practices.
Qualifications
Foundational knowledge in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building and maintaining production-grade applications.
Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and database integration.
Strong skills in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and writing clean, modular, and maintainable code.
Experience with modern back-end languages and frameworks (e.g., Python, Java, Go, Node.js) and relational/non-relational databases.
Familiarity with cloud environments and deployment practices (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, containers, CI/CD pipelines).
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience in B2B SaaS, supply chain, or procurement domains is a plus.
