Outside Technical Specialist

At Progressive Sealing, we help industrial customers improve the reliability and performance of their rotating equipment and critical process systems. For over four decades, we have supported customers across Western Canada with technical solutions for pumps and rotating equipment, including mechanical seals, bearing protection, packing, protective coatings, and equipment repair.
Our team works directly with customers in demanding industries to troubleshoot equipment challenges, improve reliability, reduce downtime, and identify practical solutions in the field.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and driven Industrial Outside Technical Sales Specialist for North Central British Columbia. This is a hands-on, customer-facing technical role for someone who enjoys working around industrial equipment, solving problems, building relationships, and developing new business.
Position Overview:
As an Industrial Outside Technical Sales Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving the expansion of our business. You will serve as the primary representative for Progressive Sealing within your assigned territory, responsible for both generating new business and nurturing existing customer relationships. You will take ownership of your territory, developing a strategic Business Plan that aligns with company goals while meeting customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive Business Plan for your designated territory.
Identify, prospect, and pursue new business opportunities to grow the customer base.
Build and maintain strong relationships with current clients, ensuring high satisfaction and loyalty.
Utilize CRM systems to track engagements, manage the sales pipeline, and optimize sales activities.
Collaborate with the sales team to exchange insights, strategies, and best practices.
Participate in quarterly performance review sessions with the Sales Manager to assess progress and adjust strategies accordingly.
Qualifications:
Preferably 3+ years of proven experience in an industrial or commercial environment.
Demonstrated success in prospecting new business and managing a territory.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Strong self-motivation and mechanical aptitude.
Valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle for travel within your territory.
Willingness to travel overnight when necessary.
Must live in North Central BC
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry 30 to 50 pounds.
Ability to walk approximately 5,000 to 15,000 steps throughout the workday.
Ability to climb ladders and numerous flights of stairs.
Ability to carry product samples, demonstration equipment, and other materials to customers sites.
