SR2 are partnering with a leading hyperscale data centre operator to support the hire of a Subject Matter Expert (SME) specialising in BMS / Controls systems. This is a high-impact role working across global operations, driving reliability, efficiency, and technical excellence within critical environments.
This opportunity suits someone who thrives in complex, high-availability environments and wants to influence design, operations, and future technology adoption.
What you’ll be doing:
Act as a technical SME across BMS / controls systems within mission-critical environments
Support design reviews, construction, and commissioning from an operational perspective
Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and system recovery
Drive improvements in efficiency, sustainability, and system reliability
Develop and implement operational standards, runbooks, and best practices
Partner cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and leadership teams
Deliver training, mentoring, and development for site teams
Support global site audits, M&A activity, and vendor management
Evaluate and introduce next-generation technologies and innovations
What we’re looking for:
5+ years’ experience in data centre operations or controls engineering within critical environments
Experience with ALC WebCTRL
Strong background in BMS / Controls (or mechanical/electrical systems)
Deep understanding of critical infrastructure lifecycle
Experience with drawings, specifications, and system sequences of operation
Proven ability in troubleshooting, failure analysis, and performance optimisation
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
