About the Role
A Silicon Valley-based data technology company is seeking a Data Engineering & Technical Demo Specialist with strong hands-on engineering skills and an interest in creating high-quality technical demonstrations and videos.
The role combines data engineering, product demonstrations, demo video creation, and technical content development. You will build and test real data pipelines, create product demos, record and edit technical walkthroughs, and develop supporting documentation and how-to content.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and troubleshoot data integration and validation platforms.
Build and demonstrate CDC and real-time streaming pipelines.
Work with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Kafka, Debezium, Snowflake, BigQuery, and Databricks.
Create realistic data validation and reconciliation demonstrations.
Develop end-to-end technical demos that clearly showcase product capabilities and use cases.
Record technical demo videos and product walkthroughs.
Edit demo videos, including screen recordings, voiceovers, captions, transitions, and basic visual enhancements.
Create technical architecture diagrams and supporting visuals.
Develop concise technical documentation, how-to guides, and supporting blog content.
Use AI tools to accelerate research, demo preparation, scripting, and content development while maintaining technical accuracy.
Requirements
3 - 5+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related technical field.
Strong understanding of CDC, data streaming, and data pipelines.
Experience with Kafka and/or Debezium.
Strong SQL and relational database experience.
Familiarity with Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or similar cloud data platforms.
Ability to independently install software, build working demos, troubleshoot technical issues, and explain technical workflows.
Experience creating technical demos and screen-recorded walkthroughs.
Basic to intermediate video editing skills.
Strong communication and technical presentation skills.
Preferred
Experience with enterprise data integration or data validation platforms.
Experience creating developer-focused technical demonstrations.
Experience with tools such as Camtasia, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, ScreenFlow, or similar video editing software.
Experience creating architecture diagrams and technical visuals.
Experience producing technical tutorials or developer documentation.
Prior experience with the platforms used by our company.

Engagement
$25 - $35 USD/hour, based on experience and technical capabilities
