Engineer — Property Data & Entity Resolution Platform (Python/PostgreSQL)
Description:
We're building a platform that tracks property ownership and flags properties likely to come up for sale soon, using public records and a handful of other data sources.
Looking for a backend or data engineer to help build the core pipeline: pulling in data from multiple sources, normalizing it into a clean structure, and matching records about the same property or person even when names, addresses, or formats don't line up exactly.
You'd also help shape how the underlying data is organized — this isn't just implementing someone else's fixed schema.
What you'd be doing:
• Building pipelines that pull in and clean up data from government and third-party sources
• Matching/deduplicating records that refer to the same person/property despite inconsistent formatting
• Working with PostgreSQL to store and structure the data as it grows
• Weighing in on how the data model should evolve as new sources and use cases get added
What we're looking for:
• Solid Python and SQL/PostgreSQL experience
• Experience working with messy, real-world data at meaningful scale
Ideal background:
Entity resolution / record linkage, data normalization, ETL pipeline design, PostgreSQL data modeling at scale.
Comfortable being handed an ambiguous real-world matching problem and designing the schema and scoring logic yourself, not just implementing a spec someone else wrote.
