Role Description The Bioinformatics Scientist will work remotely with a central hub in the San Francisco Bay Area in a full-time capacity, collaborating closely with laboratory scientists and project teams. Daily responsibilities include designing and executing bioinformatics workflows, analyzing high-throughput sequencing data, and interpreting results to support vaccine and immunotherapy programs. The role involves developing and maintaining computational pipelines, performing statistical and exploratory data analyses, and contributing to experimental design and hypothesis generation. The Bioinformatics Scientist will prepare clear reports and visualizations, present findings to stakeholders, and help integrate bioinformatics insights into decision-making across research and development. This is an equity-based position.
Qualifications
Strong data analysis skills, including experience with Data Analysis and Statistics applied to biological datasets.
Hands-on expertise with Sequencing and DNA Sequencing, including processing and interpreting next-generation sequencing data.
Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous Research, from experimental design to result interpretation and documentation.
Proficiency in relevant programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) and familiarity with bioinformatics tools and databases.
Experience working in a biomedical or biotechnology environment, preferably in genomics, immunology, or vaccine research.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex analyses to diverse audiences.
Ability to work collaboratively on-site, manage multiple projects, and meet timelines in a fast-paced research setting.
Advanced degree (PhD or MS) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Genomics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
