An international manufacturer is looking for a Strategic Buyer to strengthen its North American supply base.
We need a strategic sourcing professional, not a PO processor.
This visible, independent role focuses on developing suppliers, reducing costs, improving lead times, and solving technical sourcing challenges alongside Engineering and Operations.

What you'll do as the Strategic Buyer:
Develop sourcing strategies and qualify new suppliers for electrical, electromechanical, and fabricated components.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, tooling, and supplier agreements.
Review BOMs, drawings, and specifications to find cost and sourcing opportunities.
Partner with Engineering on alternate components, materials, and design changes.
Visit suppliers and manage performance, capacity, quality, and supply risk.
What we are looking for in the Strategic Buyer:
Strategic sourcing experience in manufacturing, with measurable cost reductions and supplier development.
Experience sourcing engineered components and working with drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to work independently.
Willingness to travel approximately 30%.
Electrical or Mechanical Engineering experience is a plus, as is experience in electrical equipment, industrial automation, automotive, heavy equipment, or similar manufacturing environments.
