Ful Foods is a Dutch food-technology company, founded in 2020, that has developed a patented biorefinery of spirulina (microalgae) to create functional, natural ingredients that replace synthetic additives and resource intensive proteins. These ingredients are designed to integrate seamlessly into bakery, beverages nutraceuticals and personal care, without materially affecting taste or texture.
FUL Foods is closing its Series A at a key moment: the FDA's phase-out of artificial dyes has created immediate, structural demand for natural colour solutions, and FUL Foods has a patented, scalable blue ingredient with the potential to address this demand. With a Dutch BV holding structure, a US C Corp operating subsidiary, and a growing transatlantic B2B pipeline, the Investor Director will join the company at a key point in its development and have the opportunity to help steward the company through its next growth phase in a professional and ambitious board.
The Board currently comprises seven seats: three founders (CEO, COO, CTO), two investor directors (Next Gen Nutrition, Ejtemai Family Office), one independent director, and three board observers (Faber, Fair Capital Partners, Tundra Capital). Next to IIC director, the company is currently engaging an independent director as board chair.
The position
We are seeking a production and manufacturing expert to become Invest International’s non-executive director on the Ful Foods Board of Directors. In this role, you will represent Invest International while providing strategic mentorship to the Executive Team (including the CEO, COO, and CTO) as they implement their growth strategy and adapt to market realities.
Key Responsibilities & Strategic Fit:
Strategic sounding board on production: Provide oversight and strategic guidance on production and manufacturing strategy. Act as a critical sounding board for the executive team.
Institutional alignment: Serve as the vital link between Ful Food’s management and Invest International. Ensure that the company's trajectory aligns with compliance, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), and reporting standards expected by institutional investors like Invest International.
Scaling: Contribute to major strategic decisions, including manufacturing scale-up, financing, commercial partnerships, operational priorities, M&A and longer-term exit readiness.
Oversight: Provide oversight of financial performance, milestone tracking, and governance in line with investor rights and shareholder agreements.
Participate in board meetings, held monthly, with quarterly meetings covering formal governance matters.
