Role Description The Cyber Security Instructor role is a full-time remote position responsible for delivering high-quality cybersecurity training to learners at various skill levels. Day-to-day tasks include planning and teaching online classes, creating and updating course materials, labs, and assessments, and guiding learners through practical projects in areas such as application, network, and information security. The instructor will provide mentorship, track learner progress, give constructive feedback, and support learners in preparing for industry certifications and job placement. The role also involves staying current with cybersecurity trends and threats, collaborating with the academic team to refine curricula, and contributing to community events such as webinars, workshops, and bootcamps.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Cybersecurity and Information Security, including security principles, threat modeling, and risk management.
Candidates should possess practical expertise in Network Security, such as firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure network architecture.
Candidates should possess skills in Application Security, including secure coding practices, vulnerability assessment, and secure software development lifecycle concepts.
Candidates should possess capabilities in Malware Analysis, including understanding malware behavior, basic reverse engineering concepts, and incident response practices.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, OSCP, or similar) are highly beneficial.
Prior teaching, mentoring, or training experience in cybersecurity or related fields is preferred.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear, accessible language.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and use online teaching tools and learning management systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
