Role Description This full-time, on-site CMA Intern – Indirect Tax and International Trade Compliance role is based in Pune City.
The intern will assist the tax and compliance team in preparing and reviewing indirect tax returns, supporting GST-related documentation, and maintaining accurate records for audits and assessments.
Day-to-day tasks include gathering data from finance and operations, helping analyze transactions for tax implications, and supporting compliance with customs and international trade regulations.
The intern will help in preparing reports, updating internal compliance checklists, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely submission of statutory filings.
The role also involves researching changes in tax laws and trade regulations, supporting internal controls, and contributing to process improvements under the guidance of senior professionals.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in accounting, taxation, and cost management, preferably pursuing or having completed CMA or an equivalent professional qualification.
Ability to research indirect tax and international trade regulations, interpret statutory requirements, and summarize findings clearly.
Proficiency in MS Excel and basic financial software for data analysis, report preparation, and documentation management.
Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work with large datasets while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with finance, operations, and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work on-site in a structured environment, manage deadlines, and follow established processes and controls.
Interest in indirect tax, GST, customs, and international trade compliance, with willingness to learn and adapt to regulatory changes.
Prior internship or project exposure in finance, taxation, or compliance is an advantage but not mandatory.
