Role Description This is a remote, contract Tax Preparer role responsible for supporting clients with accurate and timely tax filing. Day-to-day tasks include gathering and organizing client financial information, preparing federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses, and reviewing supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy. The Tax Preparer will analyze financial statements, identify applicable tax deductions and credits, and ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations. The role also involves communicating with clients to clarify tax-related questions, collaborating on tax-saving strategies, and maintaining secure and organized records in accordance with firm standards.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Tax Preparation and practical knowledge of Tax for individuals and businesses.
Candidates should possess skills in interpreting Financial Statements and applying Finance concepts to tax planning.
Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Tax Law and the ability to stay current with regulatory changes.
Relevant experience with accounting or tax software, and strong proficiency with spreadsheets and document management tools.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and written communication skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Previous experience in public accounting, tax advisory, or a similar environment is preferred.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; professional certifications (e.g., EA, CPA) are a plus.
