PermitMiner is a construction intelligence platform helping Utah subcontractors find new projects before trades are awarded.
We collect building-permit filings from public sources, resolve the contractors and businesses behind
them, enrich available contact information, remove duplicates, and filter records that are unlikely to
represent subcontracting opportunities.
Permit data refreshes every twelve hours, helping customers identify and contact contractors while projects are still being staffed.
The Role
PermitMiner is looking for a part-time Founding Sales and Customer Success Associate to turn qualified prospects and trial users into successful paying customers.
This is not a traditional marketing position. You will speak directly with Utah subcontractors, learn how
they currently find work, demonstrate PermitMiner using real projects, and help each trial user find
opportunities relevant to their trade and service area.
You will work directly with the founder to develop PermitMiner’s first repeatable sales and onboarding
process. Your conversations will also influence the product, pricing, positioning, and customer
experience.
This begins as a twelve-week contract with the potential to grow into a larger sales and customer-success role as revenue supports it.
Responsibilities
- Contact qualified Utah subcontractors by phone and email
- Respond to interested prospects and schedule short product demonstrations
- Learn each prospect’s trade, service area, and preferred project types
- Demonstrate PermitMiner using relevant, current projects
- Personally onboard trial users and help them find their first useful leads
- Follow up with trial users and ask for the paid subscription
- Re-engage prospects who clicked a trial link or created an account but did not activate
- Track every conversation, next step, objection, and outcome
- Identify why prospects decline, fail to activate, or choose not to pay
- Test sales messaging, demonstration formats, follow-up timing, and offers
- Document the scripts and processes that consistently produce qualified trials and paying customers
- Share recurring customer feedback with the founder
What Success Looks Like
During the first twelve weeks, you will help PermitMiner:
- Establish a consistent weekly volume of prospect conversations and demonstrations
- Improve the percentage of interested prospects who begin a trial
- Improve trial activation by helping users find relevant projects
- Convert qualified trial users into paying customers
- Identify the trades, company sizes, and Utah markets with the strongest demand
- Create a documented sales and onboarding process that another representative could follow
- Produce clear evidence of why customers buy, why they do not, and what changes improve conversion
Required Experience
- Experience in sales, customer success, account management, business development, or another customer-facing role
- Confidence speaking with business owners by phone
- Ability to conduct discovery conversations and product demonstrations
- Strong written follow-up and organizational skills
- Comfort asking directly for a purchase or subscription
- Ability to work independently and maintain accurate pipeline records
- Willingness to test different approaches and report results honestly
Preferred Experience
- Experience selling to contractors, skilled trades, field-service companies, or other non-technical
business owners
- Familiarity with construction, subcontracting, permitting, or contractor sales
- Experience selling software, subscriptions, data products, or lead-generation services
- Early-stage company experience
- Experience building a sales process instead of inheriting one

Engagement Terms
- Contract position
- Remote, with preference for candidates familiar with Utah or the construction industry
- Approximately eight hours per week
- $1,200 monthly base compensation
- Initial twelve-week engagement
- Customer calls and outreach conducted during US Mountain Time business hours
- Potential to expand into a permanent sales and customer-success leadership role as results and revenue support it
Commission
You will receive 30% of collected subscription revenue for twelve months from each customer attributed to you.
PermitMiner plans range from $49 to $249 per month. A customer on a $249 monthly plan can generate approximately $896 in commission over the first twelve months, assuming the customer remains subscribed and payments are successfully collected.
Attribution is tracked through dedicated signup links and customer records. Commission is calculated from collected revenue and paid monthly.
