Role Description The English Language Teacher role at Lingua Franca is a full-time, on-site position based in Madurai. The teacher will plan and deliver engaging English lessons that focus on reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills for learners at different proficiency levels. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and teaching materials, conducting interactive classroom sessions, assessing student progress through tests and assignments, and providing constructive feedback to support improvement. The teacher will also maintain accurate student records, participate in staff meetings and training sessions, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum. Supporting a respectful, inclusive classroom environment and encouraging active participation from all learners is essential to this role.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in English Teaching and Teaching, with the ability to instruct learners at various proficiency levels.
Candidates should possess solid Lesson Planning and Education skills, including the ability to design structured, outcome-focused lessons and activities.
Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with learners, colleagues, and guardians.
Relevant academic qualification in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred.
Prior experience teaching English in a classroom or training setting is beneficial.
Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies, classroom management techniques, and basic educational technology is an advantage.
Ability to work collaboratively, demonstrate cultural sensitivity, and support an inclusive learning environment is highly valued.
