Role Description The EV Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Salem. The technician will perform routine inspection, diagnostics, and repair of electric vehicle systems, including batteries, motors, wiring, and related components. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, updating service records, and following safety standards and manufacturer guidelines. The EV Technician will work closely with service advisors and other team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of work orders, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and support continuous improvements in service processes. The role may also involve assisting with customer queries related to vehicle performance, maintenance schedules, and basic technical explanations.
Qualifications
Strong technical knowledge of electric vehicle systems, including batteries, drivetrains, charging systems, and basic electronics.
Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools, multimeters, and standard workshop equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service documentation.
Solid understanding of safety procedures related to high-voltage components and workshop operations.
Relevant vocational diploma, ITI, or technical certification in automobile engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Prior experience as an automotive or EV technician is preferred; entry-level candidates with strong fundamentals may be considered.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
