Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst (System Application Analyst, Sr)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst (System Application Analyst, Sr) based in the United States.
This senior-level role focuses on optimizing revenue cycle systems and strengthening compliant charge capture across complex healthcare environments.
You will serve as a subject matter expert for Epic Revenue Guardian and related hospital billing functionality.
The position combines systems analysis, application configuration, data analytics, troubleshooting, and revenue integrity.
You will identify missed or incorrect charges, investigate root causes, and implement controls that reduce revenue leakage and billing risk.
The role involves close collaboration with clinical, financial, coding, compliance, informatics, and technology teams.
You will also mentor analysts, support system enhancements, and contribute to projects that improve revenue cycle performance and operational efficiency.
This is a remote, Monday-to-Friday opportunity requiring strong technical expertise, healthcare knowledge, and independent problem-solving skills.
Accountabilities
Perform system analysis, design, configuration, validation, and ongoing maintenance of Epic Resolute HB Revenue Guardian rules, work queues, and reconciliation processes.
Configure and optimize Revenue Guardian rules, account and charge review work queues, and automated controls designed to improve charge capture accuracy and reduce revenue leakage.
Analyze and resolve Revenue Guardian alerts, exceptions, missed charges, incorrect charges, duplicate charges, delayed charges, and other system-generated issues.
Monitor system and work-queue performance, identify emerging backlogs or charge-capture risks, and take appropriate action to mitigate operational and financial impact.
Analyze large datasets and Epic reports to identify operational trends, financial risks, productivity issues, charge lag, volume changes, and revenue improvement opportunities.
Investigate complex problems, perform root cause analysis, document decisions and resolutions, and escalate issues to leadership when appropriate.
Present findings, recommendations, and progress updates to revenue cycle leaders, analysts, clinical departments, and other stakeholders.
Collaborate with clinical areas, financial services, health information services, IT, charge master teams, and other partners to resolve charging issues and identify revenue opportunities.
Work with revenue cycle system analysts to implement upgrades, enhancements, new functionality, and system changes.
Provide training, mentoring, and technical assistance to less-experienced analysts.
Participate in revenue cycle initiatives and projects, contributing expertise in application functionality, charge capture, revenue integrity, and system optimization.
Maintain Epic certification and participate in ongoing professional development through training, vendor materials, industry resources, staff meetings, and peer collaboration.
Requirements
Master's degree in computer science, a related discipline, or a clinical field plus 4 years of relevant IT, clinical, or healthcare operations experience; or a bachelor's degree plus 6 years; an associate degree plus 7 years; or 8 years of relevant experience.
Equivalent combinations of education and applicable experience may be considered, with specified experience substitutions for associate and bachelor's degrees.
Extensive knowledge of CPT-4, HCPCS, ICD-10, revenue coding, and UB-04 requirements.
Verifiable knowledge of the Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS).
Epic certification in a Revenue Cycle application, specifically Resolute Hospital Billing, within the required timeframe and commitment to maintaining certification.
Strong knowledge of hospital operations, patient care processes, and healthcare revenue cycle workflows.
Working knowledge of Epic applications, with Revenue Guardian expertise strongly preferred.
Experience with enterprise hospital systems such as Epic, including areas such as admitting, registration, scheduling, billing, clinical documentation, or related workflows, is preferred.
Experience implementing technology or system changes that drive improvements in hospital operations is preferred.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to independently investigate, test, and analyze new application features.
Ability to perform critical quality analysis and testing of new software applications and functionality, including beta testing.
Ability to manage multiple complex priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical, clinical, financial, and administrative stakeholders.
Proactive approach to identifying problems, developing solutions, and responding to customer and operational needs.
Ability to work independently while remaining adaptable, dependable, and focused on team objectives.
Knowledge of project coordination and management is preferred.

Annual salary range of $107,360–$162,571, with offers based on experience, education, and internal equity.
