Role Description The Coordinator of Volunteers is a full-time, on-site role based in the Colombo District. This role is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and supporting volunteers who contribute to community and organizational initiatives. Day-to-day activities include organizing volunteer training sessions, maintaining accurate volunteer records, coordinating volunteer assignments, and serving as the primary point of contact for volunteer-related inquiries. The Coordinator of Volunteers will collaborate with internal teams to identify volunteer needs, design outreach activities, and ensure a positive and productive experience for all volunteers. The role also involves monitoring program effectiveness, gathering feedback, and recommending improvements to volunteer engagement strategies.
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities to build positive relationships with volunteers and internal stakeholders.
Experience in volunteer management and volunteer training, including recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling.
Background in community outreach or community engagement, with the ability to represent the organization professionally.
Organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail in maintaining records and coordinating activities.
Ability to work on-site in the Colombo District and collaborate with diverse teams.
Prior experience in a coordination or administrative role, preferably in a nonprofit, community, or startup environment.
Proficiency with basic office software and volunteer management tools or databases.
Relevant diploma or degree in social sciences, management, community development, or a related field is preferred.
