Web Engineer

Role Description The Web Engineer role at Lawists’ Den is a part-time, remote position focused on designing, developing, and maintaining the organization’s web presence and applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing front-end interfaces, building and optimizing back-end services, and ensuring seamless integration between systems. The Web Engineer will collaborate with legal and educational teams to translate business and learning requirements into user-friendly web features. Additional tasks include troubleshooting technical issues, improving site performance and security, and maintaining documentation for code and system architecture. The role requires proactive communication in a remote setting and the ability to deliver reliable solutions on a part-time schedule.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Front-End Development and Web Development for building responsive, accessible, and user-centered interfaces.
Candidates should possess skills in Back-End Web Development and Web Applications for creating secure, scalable, and efficient server-side functionality.
Candidates should possess skills in Software Development for writing clean, well-documented code and applying sound engineering practices.
Experience with modern web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks, REST APIs, and databases) is beneficial.
Familiarity with version control systems (such as Git), testing frameworks, and deployment workflows is preferred.
Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective remote communication skills are important.
Prior experience building web solutions for professional services, education, or legal-focused organizations is a plus.
A relevant degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent practical experience is advantageous.
