E-Commerce & Market Research Specialist (Shopify & Marketplaces)

Overview:
Our client is a fast-growing B2C e-commerce business specialising in branded cosmetics and fragrances across Shopify and leading marketplaces such as eBay. As the business expands into Europe, the Middle East, and potentially Australia and New Zealand, they are looking for an experienced E-Commerce & Market Research Specialist (Shopify & Marketplaces) to support international market growth and multi-channel performance.
In this role, you will conduct market and competitor research, evaluate product opportunities, and optimize listings to improve visibility and conversions. You will work directly with the business owner, taking ownership of projects from research and strategy through execution and reporting. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional to make a measurable impact on the growth of a global e-commerce brand.
Schedule: Monday to Friday | Flexible during the client's business hours, GMT+3 (Israel Daylight Time) | Part-time role (4 hours per day)
Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth market research to assess product viability and identify high-potential target markets across Europe, the Middle East, and other regions
Evaluate the existing product catalog and recommend additions, removals, or repositioning based on audience demand and competitive analysis
Manage and optimize product listings across Shopify and marketplace channels such as eBay to maximize visibility and conversions
Develop and execute strategies to drive qualified traffic to the client's e-commerce storefront
Provide regular reporting on research findings, market insights, and actionable next steps to guide business decisions
Identify and recommend additional sales channels and marketplace opportunities to expand revenue streams
Must-Have Requirements:
Proven experience in e-commerce operations, particularly with Shopify and online marketplaces such as eBay
Strong understanding of market research methodologies and competitive analysis for consumer goods
Familiarity with the European and/or Middle Eastern e-commerce landscape, including consumer buying behavior
High level of attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting and stakeholder updates
Self-starter mentality with the ability to take ownership of projects from day one
Nice-to-Have Requirements:
Bonus if you have prior experience or familiarity with the cosmetics, beauty, or fragrance product category
It helps if you have exposure to additional international marketplaces (e.g., Amazon, Etsy, or regional platforms) beyond Shopify and eBay
Bonus if you have experience supporting expansion into the Australia/New Zealand market
