Design Manager – Architect
Industry: Luxury Villas, Bungalows & Real Estate
Location: Prabhadevi, Mumbai
About the Role
We are looking for a Design Manager – Architect with 5+ years of architectural design experience, preferably in luxury residential villas, bungalows, and real estate projects.
This role is strictly focused on architectural design, planning, and execution. It does not include interior design responsibilities. The ideal candidate should have a strong architectural background, project leadership experience, and prior exposure to site coordination and real estate development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead architectural design, plotting, and master planning activities.
Ensure design quality, timely delivery, and compliance with project requirements.
Coordinate with sales teams, project managers, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
Manage project kick off meetings and weekly design review meetings.
Review consultant drawings and deliverables across various project stages.
Provide constructive feedback and ensure alignment with project standards.
Ensure compliance with Isprava’s planning, design, and implementation standards.
Prepare feasibility reports, design proposals, presentations, and project documentation.
Collaborate with MEP engineers, interior designers, landscape architects, and other consultants.
Ensure compliance with Indian building codes, regulations, and statutory requirements.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor design quality and construction progress.
Provide technical guidance and practical design solutions to site and construction teams.
Oversee snagging, final inspections, and project completion prior to handover.
Identify and resolve design related challenges proactively.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) – Mandatory
Master’s degree in Architecture or Urban Planning is an advantage.
Minimum 5 years of architectural design experience.
Experience in luxury villas, bungalows, residential developments, or real estate architecture preferred.
Strong knowledge of architectural planning, design development, and execution.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Advanced proficiency in SketchUp.
Strong PowerPoint presentation and communication skills.
Familiarity with Revit and USGBC is an advantage.
Prior onsite experience is preferred.
Experience managing architectural consultants and project teams.
Strong understanding of Indian building codes and regulatory requirements.
