Role Description The Jewelry CAD Designer will be responsible for creating accurate 2D and 3D digital models of jewelry designs using industry-standard CAD software, ensuring they are suitable for manufacturing and stone setting. On a day-to-day basis, the role involves translating sketches, concepts, and client briefs into detailed CAD files, refining designs based on feedback from the design and production teams, and preparing technical drawings for casting and production. The designer will collaborate with merchandisers, gemologists, and manufacturing staff to align aesthetics with practical production requirements, including metal weights, stone layouts, and feasibility. The role includes maintaining organized design files, adhering to brand and collection guidelines, and delivering work within deadlines for new launches and custom orders. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Surat.
Qualifications
Proficiency in jewelry CAD design software (e.g., Rhino, Matrix, JewelCAD, or similar) and strong 3D modeling abilities.
Good understanding of jewelry manufacturing processes, including casting, stone setting, and finishing, as well as basic knowledge of metals and gemstones.
Ability to interpret hand sketches, references, and client requirements and convert them into precise technical CAD files.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy in measurements and weights, and capability to prepare files suitable for rapid prototyping and production.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with design, production, and quality teams in a fast-paced environment.
Time-management skills and reliability in meeting project deadlines and handling multiple design tasks simultaneously.
Prior experience in jewelry CAD design or a relevant portfolio showcasing jewelry models; experience in diamond jewelry is an advantage.
Diploma or degree in jewelry design, CAD, industrial design, or a related field is preferred; candidates with strong portfolios and relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
