Role Description The IT Systems Administrator role is a part-time, remote position responsible for supporting and maintaining the college’s IT infrastructure. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring systems performance, managing user accounts and permissions, and providing technical support for faculty, staff, and students. The role involves troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, implementing security measures, and assisting with regular backups and updates. The administrator will collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure reliable access to online resources, learning platforms, and administrative systems, and document procedures for ongoing operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong System Administration and Information Technology skills to manage servers, user accounts, and core applications.
Candidates should possess solid Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
Candidates should possess foundational Network Security skills to help safeguard data, systems, and remote access configurations.
Relevant experience with remote work tools, virtualization or cloud services, and backup/recovery procedures is beneficial.
A diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time remote setting are essential.
