Executive Director

Role Description The Executive Director role is a part-time, remote position responsible for overseeing strategy, operations, and growth of the NextGen CAE Network. This role involves defining and executing the community’s vision, managing strategic initiatives, and ensuring alignment with CAE and simulation industry trends. The Executive Director will guide content and programming plans, coordinate educational resources, and support partnerships with engineering organizations, companies, and academic institutions. Day-to-day tasks include supervising community engagement activities, reviewing and prioritizing collaboration proposals, monitoring performance metrics, and optimizing online platforms for member experience. The role also includes overseeing communications, representing the network in external forums, and supporting business development and sponsorship opportunities.
Qualifications
Strong leadership, strategic planning, and organizational skills to guide a professional engineering community and manage multiple initiatives.
Experience in CAE, FEA, CFD, structural analysis, or related simulation domains, preferably within mechanical, automotive, or aerospace engineering.
Ability to develop and oversee educational content, technical programming, and learning resources for engineering professionals and students.
Proficiency in community management, professional networking, and stakeholder engagement across online platforms and social media.
Background in business development, partnership management, or sponsorships, with the ability to identify and cultivate collaboration opportunities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical and strategic concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in CAE and simulation industries.
Comfort working independently in a remote environment, with strong time-management and decision-making capabilities.
