Role Description The Senior Highway Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram. This role involves leading and performing detailed highway and roadway design, including alignment design, geometric design, and preparation of plans, profiles, and cross-sections to complete DPR assignments from Government Agencies as NHAI and MoRTH. The engineer will coordinate drainage and related roadway elements, review design standards, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and client specifications. Daily responsibilities include supervising junior engineers, reviewing design calculations and drawings, preparing technical reports, and supporting transportation planning efforts. The role also includes collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams, attending client meetings, addressing review comments, ensuring timely deliverables, quality control, and documentation. The role also includes design reviews of construction supervision consultancy assignments with the company.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in Highway Design and Highway Engineering, with experience delivering complex roadway projects.
Proficiency in Roadway Design, including horizontal and vertical alignment, intersections, interchanges, and safety-focused geometric design.
Strong skills in Drainage Design, including roadway drainage, culverts, stormwater management, and related hydrologic/hydraulic analysis.
Experience in Transportation Planning to support corridor studies, traffic assessments, and integration of planning outcomes into design.
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
Hands-on experience with relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads or similar highway design tools).
Knowledge of applicable national and regional design standards, guidelines, and codes for highway and transportation projects.
Proven ability to lead project tasks, mentor junior staff, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment, initiate and attend meetings with Clients.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills, with attention to accuracy and detail.
Prior experience working with US-based clients or DOT projects is beneficial.
