Role Description The Stitching Master role is a part-time, on-site position based in Nagpur. The Stitching Master will be responsible for cutting and stitching garments according to patterns and client measurements, ensuring accurate fit and neat finishing. Day-to-day tasks include operating sewing machines, hand-finishing seams, attaching zippers, buttons, and linings, and making alterations and repairs as required. The role also involves checking garment quality, coordinating with designers or customers about style and fit, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. The Stitching Master is expected to manage time effectively to meet deadlines and support smooth studio operations.
Qualifications
Strong technical tailoring skills, including cutting, stitching, and garment construction for various styles and fabrics.
Ability to read and interpret patterns, measurements, and design instructions with high accuracy.
Experience using different types of sewing machines and related tools, and performing basic machine maintenance.
Attention to detail in finishing, including hemming, edging, and quality checks on seams and fittings.
Good communication skills to interact with clients and team members, and to understand specific fit and design requirements.
Proven ability to work independently on-site, manage multiple orders, and meet agreed timelines.
Prior experience as a Stitching Master, tailor, or in a similar role; apprenticeship or vocational training in tailoring is an advantage.
