Role Description The Metallurgical Laboratory Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Malur. The engineer will conduct metallurgical testing and analysis, including hardness testing, microstructure evaluation, and mechanical property assessment. Daily responsibilities include operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing and handling samples, recording and interpreting test results, and supporting quality control activities for heat treatment processes. The role also involves preparing technical reports, collaborating with production and quality teams to resolve metallurgical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and laboratory standards.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills to evaluate test results, identify trends, and troubleshoot metallurgical issues.
Proficiency with laboratory equipment used in metallurgical testing, such as hardness testers, microscopes, and sample preparation tools.
Solid laboratory skills, including sample preparation, test execution, data recording, and adherence to safety protocols.
Experience with quality control practices related to heat treatment and metallurgical processes.
Effective communication skills to present findings, prepare technical reports, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Knowledge of heat treatment processes, metallurgical standards, and relevant testing procedures is highly desirable.
Ability to work on-site in Malur, manage multiple tasks, and maintain high attention to detail in a production-oriented environment.
