Core Teaching Responsibilities
Secondary English teachers teach students aged 11–16 (Key Stages 3 and 4), covering grammar, writing, reading comprehension, and literature analysis. They plan and deliver lessons aligned with the national curriculum, ensuring each class has clear objectives and a balance of instruction, demonstration, and practice. Teachers also adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students, encouraging interactive and engaging learning experiences
Assessment and Student Support
Teachers create, assign, and grade homework, tests, and projects, monitoring student progress throughout the academic year. They prepare students for standardized exams, such as GCSEs, and provide extra support to help students reach their potential.
